Songwriters in the Round at The Twisted Cork
The Twisted Cork is a neighborhood liquor store, bar and music venue in Lexington, Ky. It's the kind of place where you are always greeted with warmth and a hug from someone behind the bar. This location has become a community watering hole and gathering place for music and revelry- a place where strangers can become your family.
Songwriters in the round involves three different sets of 2-3 individual artists or duos. Each artist or duo alternates from song to song creating a round. The amazing artists that played this event are Whitney Acke and Ray Adams, A Little Bit More, Chelsea Nolan, Travis Kern, Bob Shirley, Arlo McKinley and Wes Smith.
In addition to documenting the event I set up a simple portrait spot in the backroom and snapped some fun headshots and portraits of anyone who'd sit in front of my camera. Enjoy the personalities behind the tunes, music community and heart of the Twisted Cork.
This event raised money for the Sunrise Children's Services and was sponsored by the Kentucky Coal Association. A huge thank you to all who attended to support local music and a wonderful local nonprofit.
