On THE BLOG
Engaged | Jerry + Alison
An Irish boy and Colorado girl met in Kentucky the old fashioned way- through mutual friends at a bar! These two horse lovers went their separate ways for five years but eventually reconnected and the rest, as they say, is history! Eventing and horse training keep them traveling and apart quite a bit but when theyβre together this pair keep each other smiling and laughing. Join me for their adorable engagement session at Winstar Farm in Versailles, Kentucky!
Gowen to the Chapel | Peter + Heather
When Peter + Heather met they knew within a few dates that they had found their match! Both nerdy and shy, Peter found he could be his Dungeons and Dragonβs loving self with Heatherβs all things Disney, Harry Potter and Fall Out Boy loving self. On September 30th, 2018 they wed under overcast skies at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois with portraits in the hedge garden and pinky promise vows. True to them, their celebration also featured board games, Fall Out Boy sing-a-longs on the dance floor and brunch! Join me for their beautiful day!
Marry Mack | David + Chelsea
David and Chelsea met at work, fell in love during many dates at Keeneland and got engaged on the shores of South Carolina. These Lexington natives fiercely love their pets (their Corgi even made an appearance), laughing with their friends and celebrating like itβs going out of style. I did my best to document the goofiness of this fun loving, laid back pair and hope you smile from ear to ear as you relive their downtown Lexington wedding day. Join us for their vows at St. Paul Catholic Church, portraits around Limestone Hall + Gratz Park and celebration at the Mane on Main in Lexington, Kentucky. Enjoy!
Aubrey Rose
Miranda + Ryan welcomed Aubrey Rose to their wild crew in October! They invited me to spend a morning with them when Aubrey was just a few days old and I made a little photo magic out of the chaos. ;) I included a few outtakes that I hope get recreated as these kiddos grow up together. Enjoy! <3
Braydensaurus Turns SIX
This future palentologist just turned SIX! Brayden loves dinosaurs (his mom and I joked that he's totally channeling young Ross Gellar from Friends <3) and is a ball of energy! We spent a half hour at The Studio Cottage in Lexington, Kentucky driving upside down cars, jumping around in pillows and reading dinosaur books. After our session I got a text from his mom that said, "Brayden wants me to share that he wants you to babysit him because you are so fun. That's the highest honor from him!". I'm pretty sure that's the best review I've ever gotten <3
Ready for Dietz
You may remember their engagement photos from around this time last year :) They officially became Mr. ad Mrs. Dietz on the shores of Cancun, Mexico but decided for some portraits together in Kentucky too! We spent a beautiful morning at the Kentucky Horse Park to create these truly stunning portraits. I hope you and enjoy and congratulations to the newlyweds!
Fall Portraits | Bennett Family
Peter and Dominique loaded up the family, including the family dog Rollo and Peterβs parents, to enjoy an afternoon running through the corn stalks, watching Rollo deal with Noahβs loving but aggressive hugs and seeing Ron befriend the local camel at Eckert-Boyd Orchard in Versailles, Kentucky. There were also apple cider donuts- but they were so delicious they went unphotographed. :) Join us for their fun afternoon that has pictures to prove it. :)
Let's Go To The Prom | Joe + Tivoli
THE 80βs. Anyone who was around for them secretly has their scrunchies, hot pants and prom dresses stored in closet waiting for their comeback. Joe + Tivoli found a few era treasures someone cast back into the world and strutted them to the Burl in Lexington, Kentucky for the 80βs prom! But no fits-like-a-glove 80βs gem can go without a fashion show, some old school video games and little awkwardness- amiright? Enjoy their incredibly fun arcade photoshoot at the Burl Arcade.
Pickin' n' Dumplings | Ao Family
Join us for an afternoon at the Eckert Boyd Orchard and making homemade lamb dumplings with the Ao family in Lexington, Kentucky. Not only is important to have beautiful images with your family but itβs also important to have documentation of family traditions- like making dumplings from scratch for dinner. The little things are big things and itβs certainly a day I felt so honored to be invited to. Enjoy!
