I was up before the sun on a very hot July morning to join Alexis Sheffield and her Corgi, Remy, out on the farm to pick flowers for her business Wild Roots Farmer Florist. We chatted as the sun rose and dew wet her jeans and feet about the schedule her life takes in the colorful months. All the hours outside of her 9-5 job are spent tending the garden, picking flowers, assembling beautiful arrangements for deliveries, bouquets, and weddings- and we laughed when I asked her literally sit and immerse herself in the marigolds <3 Join us out in the field and see how beautiful her hard work is.

Over five years ago Cody + Sara Sims had their first date at the farm that Cody grew up on. After years of dating, a lot of a anticipation, and a questionable story about a forgotten wallet- Cody got down on one knee on the porch of the same cabin and asked a very important question. Sara of course said, “yes!” so it was the perfect setting for their engagement session and where they'll tie the knot later on this year. I just loved spending an evening with them and can’t wait to document their celebration in October. Enjoy!

An Irish boy and Colorado girl met in Kentucky the old fashioned way- through mutual friends at a bar! These two horse lovers went their separate ways for five years but eventually reconnected and the rest, as they say, is history! Eventing and horse training keep them traveling and apart quite a bit but when they’re together this pair keep each other smiling and laughing. Brooke + Jeremy recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary but year number two will look a bit different with the addition of a baby girl! :) We spent an evening out on the farm in Bardstown, Kentucky to document this sweet time before little Avery arrives!

It was so fun to take updated family photos for the Lyttle's! They moved to a beautiful new neighborhood last year that overlooks farms so we stepped into their back yard and took a drive down the road to find the settings for their session. Join us for their fun and fall colorful session!

Since I met Jimmie and Kristyn their gaggle of little girls has continued to grow! With two five year olds and a one year old in tow, we headed out to Seven Acre Farm for an evening of swinging, chasing chickens and feeding peppermints to the horses. For Peter and Dominique the roads of their love story have gone straight, weaved and split, split and weaved in yet they somehow always find their way back to each other. There are few stories I know better than theirs, which almost makes it harder to put into words.
