In the Garden with Wild Roots Farmer Florist
Meet Alexis (and her Corgi, Remy!)
I was up before the sun on a very hot July morning to join Alexis Sheffield and her Corgi, Remy, out on the farm to pick flowers for her business Wild Roots Farmer Florist. We chatted as the sun rose and dew wet her jeans and feet about the schedule her life takes in the colorful months. All the hours outside of her 9-5 job are spent tending the garden, picking flowers, assembling beautiful arrangements for deliveries, bouquets, and weddings- and we laughed when I asked her literally sit and immerse herself in the marigolds <3
Itβs my hope to tell more visual stories of the people who feel a deep connection to the land, agriculture and working with their hands. I want to show generational farm operations working side by side, to document the days of farm life that are disappearing more with each passing year, I want to photograph the recipes of family cookbooks and explore what agriculture looks like in modern times in urban settings and small businesses. If any of that resonates with you- Iβd love to hear from you! Please get in touch directly by emailing sabrina@seriouslysabrinaphotography.com.
