As I was told, Brent and Caroline had an instant connection. One that had Caroline quickly uprooting her life in South Carolina so the two could be together. Her best friend joked that she left so quickly, even her passport was left behind- which for how much they travel is quite a telling sign! They now live and work in San Francisco, bouncing between national and international locals for Airbnb.
Caroline grew up in Kentucky so her parent’s home is the backdrop for bridal portraits and the rehearsal dinner. You may remember the home and farm from their gorgeous engagement session.
For many of their guests, Kentucky was a destination wedding. Southern hospitality shined at their beautiful rehearsal dinner, complete with an extensive bourbon bar and set on the rolling hills of the Millard’s property. Wine was shared, cigar smoke danced lightly in the cool fall air and acoustic guitar greeted the night as the sun fell.
The following day was beautiful, sunny and cool. A perfect fall day. The long driveway to Spindletop Hall was lined with trees showing off their colors. Every aspect of the wedding day was thoughtful and gorgeous. Brent and the guys were in good spirits (thanks to some bourbon and their awesome senses of humor) and Caroline and her best friends enjoyed the colorful character of the venue’s bathrooms and laughed about the events of the previous evening. From their first look to their final exit, Brent and Caroline were one of the happiest couples I have been privileged to photograph.
As someone who documents wedding days often, I always watch for how the couple communicates with each other while no one is looking and for these two- it’s always sweet tender moments or them belly laughing. I totally understand why no one questions how these two travel the world together. :)
Caroline and Brent, I absolutely loved getting to know you both this past year and being part of your wedding celebrations. I truly hope I did your day justice and that the images serve as a wonderful reminder of how this chapter of your love story began.
