Naz Says "I Drew!"
Meet Drew + Nazeeha
This vivacious and fun-loving pair met while in medical school seven years ago.
“Drew you know as well as I do that 7 years ago when we met, marrying the red headed guy in class was never part of my life plan. But I think that is a testament to how incredible you are. That despite our vastly different backgrounds you have won over not only myself, but my family and friends as well.”
Their love story is filled with hilarious and challenging anecdotes like almost having their relationship outed on the news, Naz forgetting her fully packed bags for an international trip, and long month of illness in Africa. It’s also full of highs- like their proposal in the Himalayan Mountains of Nepal.
“There is a new girl in our class and she is cute. These are the things I knew before I met you. This girl has the most infectious personality of anyone I’ve ever met and she is absolutely beautiful. These are the things I knew upon meeting you. Naz brings out the best in everyone. She is magnetic, compassionate, hilarious, and she is a walking breathing wild card. These are the things I knew after spending a little more time with you. I love you Naz. This is something I knew much sooner than you probably realized.”
Despite their flaws these two promised to love each other, be each other’s favorite travel buddy, to consider another dog sibling for Fenway as long as Naz is ok with red headed children, for Drew to be Naz’s alarm clock and to love each other’s families as their own. The rest of their vows were so heartfelt and hilarious and the celebration that followed was, unsurprisingly, the same. As the sunset over the farm they walked hand-in-hand with their pup to a standing ovation of family and friends and danced the night away under the stars.
Getting know Naz and Drew and spend time with them was a blast and I was so honored to document their multiday and multicultural wedding days. What a beautiful chapter these days will be! The Celebration Continues!
In Naz’s vows to Drew the previous day she said, “You know I love a good story and all my best stories are with you”. Their second wedding day celebration will be just that.
Drew and Naz joined their families and wedding party at the downtown Lexington Hilton that morning to nurse off the previous days festivities and for the ladies to get decorated in traditional henna. Little did Naz know that the processing time for her henna was longer than expected and she sat with arms in paint thinner that afternoon to try and speed up the process! That’s a wedding bonding experience I don’t think many couples can say they have. :P
As the wedding party and family arrived back at Merefield the rain parted just long enough to take portraits outside. As the reception started rain pounded on the barn so hard it was impossible to hear any speeches and guests arrived back from walking people to their cars completely drenched. They say it’s good luck if it rains on your wedding day so I’m excited to see what the future has in store for the new Mr. +Mrs. based on theirs! :) Enjoy some of my favorites from the second day of their celebration!
