Intimate 21c Museum Hotel Wedding | Zach and Hannah
Spring came early this year, as blooming magnolia trees lined the sidewalks on downtown streets, on a cool March day in Lexington, Kentucky. Greeted by the trademark blue penguins in the windows, the huge doors of 21c Museum Hotel swung open and geometric art crawling up the walls to the ceiling hung above like an umbrella in the entryway.
Upstairs in gallery number 3, white chairs anxiously awaited the intimate number of guests that would attend Zach and Hannahβs wedding ceremony that afternoon.
Zach and Hannah are the epitome of couple goals (at least for me!). Hannah is a country loving gal, fashionista, adventurer and super successful businesswoman. But, as her best friend Ashley described her, she looks like a pin-up or a gal Don Draper would have dated. Zach, a charming ginger, also hails from Kentucky. Heβs a software engineer in San Diego and can be found on his sail boat in his free time. The pair is even considering living on the sail boat so they can travel- which they love! New Zealand is already awaiting their arrival in March. Besides being successful, they are both wonderfully funny and compliment each other perfectly.
Zach and his sister snuck into another gallery before the ceremony for her to share a hug and words and words of encouragement for her younger brother. βYouβve waited 35 years for Hannah to come along and I couldnβt be more excited for how perfect she is for youβ. Sibling love is so incredible.
Once grandpa showed up- Zach and Hannahβs nearest and dearest filled the nine seats in the audience. Hannahβs dad walked her down the aisle to a song played from Zachβs iPhone and the ceremony was officiated by family friend Jeff Rogers. Their words to each other were heart warming and funny, as would be expected. I hope Zach having a job doesnβt end up being a deal breaker! ;) The two sealed the deal with a kiss and cheered, hugging everyone in the room. It was honestly one of the best ceremonies Iβve ever had the honor of attending.
βThat was the longest 10 months ever!β Hannah said as the two strolled from the doors of 21c to an alleyway outside. The long time friends started dating that long ago and knew immediately they were meant to be. Getting to their wedding day for their lives to officially begin together could have gone faster if Hannah had her way. :) Their portrait time was full of laughter and they couldnβt take their eyes off each other as they strolled hand in hand up and down the alley.
Finally, the two joined their family in the vault of 21c Museum Hotel for their first dinner as a whole family. It was a perfect way to close the day before heading to the Burl to dance and celebrate with hundreds of their closest friends.
Zach and Hannah, thank you so much for choosing me to document your day. It was such a honor to be included in such an intimate event and to be invited to dinner with your family- which was an extra incredible treat. I hope you two have a wonderful life full of adventures, travel, laugh lines earned from too many funny faces and memories with your friends and family. I truly hope you love these photos and that they are treasured for a lifetime as the start of this new married chapter in your love story! Enjoy!
