MARRIED | Dan + Sophia

On May 1, 2016 in St. Louis, MO the grass and leaves were heavy with rain drops from last nights storms. The grey skies created soft light over the city and the spring colors popped off their surroundings. Pulling up to the Whittemore house on campus felt grand, open and inviting. Inside were bouquets of flowers in shades of pink and white, instax cameras ready to capture the smiles of happy guests and the scurrying of feet and chatter throughout the rooms as preparations reached their final stages.

Their first look was quick and sweet, observed by friends who worked hard to keep Sophia's dress from getting too wet and dirty. We wandered the garden and then popped across the street to St. Louis University- were Dan and Sophia first met in class, under a tree, over 9 years ago. As we came back to the house, the ceremony was serenaded by a violin and piano and the two exchanged their vows. Followed was a reception of so much laughter, food and a hilariously hosted shoe game. As the party ended, balloons ascended into the air and we filled the afternoon with more portraits at the couple's favorite local park. My favorite thing, is that we ended at the very spot in the park that Sophia looked at so many years ago and said, "On my wedding day, I'm totally taking pictures here." Life goal, achieved.
