A Song for Two Souls | Ray + Whitney
Meet Ray + Whitney
When these two met ten years ago Whitney never imagined an amazing man like Ray could love a challenging woman like herself. They had walked long roads in life before their paths finally crossed, with more trials still ahead. What grew along their journey was a commitment to remain by each other’s side and in that a deep love grew.
“Today we live a simpler life. A life that is beautiful, honest; a passionate life”
These two souls are as kind as they are feisty, as beautiful as they are broken. Knowing their story personally; to see them surrounded by family and community as they recited their vows was truly a joy to witness.
First thing in the morning Ray gifted Whitney with a photo of her beloved grandmother to carry with her on her flowers. Whitney had her hair and makeup done by Ray’s daughter, Chelsea, and got dressed by her momma, Sue. Ray got ready with his son Greg, Whitney’s sons, Riley and Brantley, both their fathers and his grandson, Gage. As guests arrived downstairs for the ceremony, their dear friends Jill and Reed of the duo A Little Bit More filled the house with song. As they finally joined hand in hand, Ray and Whitney exchanged hand written vows and sang together a cappella. Their words were sweet and their voices welcomed tears from the eyes of every of guest. As they sealed the deal with rings and kiss and recessed out they were enveloped in a family hug.
All their children shared heartfelt words and hugs, except Chelsea who sang her toast as a song she wrote for them. In between dancing (be sure you check out the fun “train” led by Prentice in the photos below) people enjoyed a homemade taco bar and desserts. As the light of the day began to fade we ended the evening outside with some portraits of them together amongst the dogwood trees.
It truly took a team of family, friends and local vendors to make their celebration happen! Those people and services are highlighted at the end of the post. I truly hope you enjoy the images from their day! :)
