Wedding Day | Chris Got "Carried" Away

Meet Chris + Carrie

But first, let’s start at the beginning! Although the new Mr. + Mrs. currently call Washington D.C. home- they both have Kentucky roots and met at a University of Kentucky football game when they sat one row apart with a large group of mutual friends. The Cats may have lost that night but C+C got to talking and phone numbers were exchanged. The rest, as they say, is history! Since they met in 2010 they’ve moved from Kentucky to D.C., flown around the world and added a spunky bulldog named Gus to their family. While they hope to end back up in the Bluegrass eventually- they currently enjoy dining out and exploring Washington D.C. with Gus in tow!

With some clever planning, Carrie + Chris share an engagement story with Carrie’s twin brother Branden as they got engaged on the same weekend one day apart! While family was visiting in D.C. Braden popped the question to his girlfriend as anticipated- but unbeknownst to Carrie the guys had already cooked up a bigger plan! Chris got down on one knee in their apartment the next day right before heading to brunch with Carrie’s family. As Carrie put it- it was then an exceptionally exciting brunch as they celebrated not one engagement- but TWO! :)

Carrie’s childhood church in Lexington, First United Methodist, served as the setting for their “I-dos” but the architecture and history of the old courthouse in downtown Lexington won them over before the venue, Limestone Hall, was even completely finished. This fun loving pair celebrated their marriage with their family and closest fiends by dancing under the sparkling Rotunda and then hitting the town!

Chris + Carrie- it was SO much fun and such an honor to document your wedding day and see so many familiar faces! I truly hope you love the way your day was documented and that you treasure them for a lifetime.

The local people and places that served as vendors and locations for their wedding day are highlighted at the end of the post!

Their celebration wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing people and places below. If you love something you see- I encourage you to check out the amazing Lexington businesses who were part of this gorgeous day. Click on the business name to go to their website.
